We started Chupenga in 2015 in Berlin Mitte with the ambitious goal of making no less than the best‚ freshest, most delicious burritos, salads and tacos in Germany. We are inspired by the mix of Mexican cuisine with its endless varieties of colours and flavours and the vibrant street food atmosphere that you find in the Mission District of San Francisco‚ the self-proclaimed burrito capital of the world.
We are continually refining our recipes to raise the bar for Mexican-Californian food in Berlin. We prepare everything in the store from scratch, using fresh ingredients that are delivered to our restaurant every day. Authentic chipotle and ancho chilies are imported from Mexico, our Carnitas, a special version of the traditional pulled pork, is seasoned with a mix of fresh herbs and braised for hours before it is served. Our guacamole is made from ripe Hass avocados that we mash by hand with freshly chopped cilantro and lime several times a day. We serve authentic food but with a modern touch. One of our key additions was to introduce quinoa to our menu. It’s a seed not a grain. It’s also super healthy and tastes awesome with our lime and cilantro seasoning.
Our food can be combined according to individual preferences and needs, serving meat lovers and vegans alike and offering a range of choices to people with food intolerances. We think you’ll notice the difference, too.
